136: Unmotivated

Feeling quite unmotivated to write lately, on my blog as well as my journal. There are things that are bugging me but it's not like it's such a big deal. I'm just easily unmotivated by stuff.

On the bright side, I realised that Fall/Winter fashion is actually quite fun. There's so many ways to play with the layering and all and not feel stuffed in it. But on the other hand, because you
NEED those layers, you can't leave home without them, cos otherwise you'll freeze.

The temperature nowadays is between
2°C to 4°C during the day with the sun shining. It's quite nice weather, actually. Just have to dress thicker, longer and warmer. But it's getting too cold to jog outside, at least for me. My nose and throat dries sooner than before.

Last week, I was told about the possibility of snow in this week. Yep, snow in October. But nah, it's not the kind of snow that everyone has been anticipating. It's the kind that would fall for probably a couple of hours and then melt away when the sun comes out.

It did snow lightly today, in Central and North Finland, as well as some other places more northern than Helsinki, which is in the South. And the first thing Helmi said to me when I picked her up from school today was,
'Julie! There was snow! I saw it fall like rain and it was white!'

Bah! I missed it. I was in the kitchen cooking =(

Oh, but I made shepherd's pie =D

Which I forgot the salt. Nevertheless, baked potatoes are always good. The kids didn't like it; neither the taste nor the looks of it. It's basically minced meat and mashed potato. I dunno why it doesn't even look appetising to them.

Helmi's throwing a Halloween party and today, I helped her make some invitation cards. We went to Tiimari to get paper, stickers and glitter, and Eliel got 12 pairs of top and bottom fangs. Both Helmi and Eliel were trying them on in the car and it looked really funny on them. It impaired their speech and they were obviously a little too big for them. But oh well, it was fun looking at them like that.

This was all Helmi's idea. I think it's simple and nice. She requested me to help her write the card addressed to Charlotte cos her mom's from NZ, 'Write in English so that her mom can read too.' Sweet lil girl. She even bought a 'Best Costume' trophy from Timmari. And I found it facinating that she came up with the agenda all by herself! The games they're going to play, when to eat, when to announce the winner for the best costume, etc.

Oh, I wish I could be at her party. It'd be nice to see the kids all dressed up as something. But I've already planned to attend the Cultural Evening by the Finnish-Malaysian Association. Ah, let's see.
