Nokia headquarters
My first stop: Kauppakeskus Ruoholahti to get my cam.
Hopped onto a tram (again, I didn't know where to get the tickets from so I got this ride free) and got off to wherever I see interesting. I dunno where this was.
Random snapshot
This building is actually beautiful in real life. I shall learn how to take better photos.
Lots of trees in Finland. Again, no justice done here =(
Arrived at the busiest spot of Helsinki without even realising. This is one of the malls, Forum. Throughout my journey, I just randomly picked a spot on the map and take whichever tram that passes through. I'd count how many stops I'd have to pass before getting off since I couldn't read the names of the stations. Otherwise, I'd just walk. But hey! I paid for this tram ride okay. I finally remembered that tickets can be bought from the driver cos I read it on the website :P But partly also cos the tram was empty and I had nothing to scan at the ticket machine inside the tram (for monthly passes) so a bit paiseh la. Went up to the driver and bought a ticket for €2.50.
The biggest: Stockmann
Love the buildings, tram tracks and cobblestones.
See something familiar? =)
Guess I'll do my shopping at H&M from now on, or until I find better bargains.
Marveling at the architecture
Tell me it's beautiful
I dunno what this guy was selling but he was playing some music while pushing his cart. I took out my camera and he straight away posed for me.
Brown people here busk...
...and sell flowers :P
My lunch at Stockmann's deli cos I'm a cheapskate like that. I'd really like to know what is it like to be a Finnish mouth cos the sandwiches hurt my gums =( They eat sandwiches cold from the fridge. I requested this to be grilled. Seriously, I need warm food. And I've been eating lots of breads and sandwiches in this one week. You can get different cuisines in Helsinki like Chinese, Japanese, Nepalese, Indian and etc, besides pizzas, burgers and sandwiches. I guess they're about the same price, which is about 7-9€ per meal. My lunch was €6+ in total.
Wisdom of stay?
I was taking a picture of the stall selling fresh strawberries and cherries and these guys just butt in and posed.
Got onto a tram and decided to go to the harbour where you can take ferries to Tallinn (Estonia) and Stockholm (Sweden). There are 2 harbours in Helsinki. The one I went to, I had to pass by some flats before seeing the harbour, and it was quiet. So I made use of my self timer =)
Just because =)

Dandelions
The harbour where you get cruises as well
Walked further to find more cafes.
Open air stage. Cool, eh?
Outside Kamppi station. Some plastic bag awareness installation.
In the bus experimenting with my new cam. I love it, except I can't rotate my photos and no sound during movie playbacks. Grrr. In the bus, you have to buckle up as well. And the bus is quite comfortable. Seats can be reclined some more. It's clean and every mechanism works well. Damn nice.
Walking home from Nummela bus station.
Stopped to take shots of the pretty dandelions.
Went home, ate some Indian food - butter rice and spiced chicken in gravy. Omg, spices. They have never tasted any better. But it's not hot & spicy and it's quite salty also. Oh well, you're in a Western country. Live with it. I think Helsinki's a beautiful city. No high rise buildings allowed to be built, so you get everything low, like Cyberjaya. Same rule.
