I gotta get out of the house tomorrow. For 2 days in a row, I stayed at home, making food and cleaning a little. I can be a homemaker now! :P I shall, tomorrow, wake up earlier, clean a little bit more, go out, go to Prisma, get some stuff, come back and make more kuih kodoks and yoghurt desserts. The kids asked for it again.
The weather was awesome today. Every morning, when I wake up, I'll check the weather forecast on my Mac, and then decide what to wear. I'm still experimenting, cos I wouldn't know best how cold exactly 16degs is or how strong 6kmph wind is until I go out and experience it myself. I decided to be brave today and wore my spaghs; it felt so comfortable. THE WEATHER WAS AWESOME TODAY! Both Anu and Jaakko were at home when I got up. Hmm, I think I should get up a little earlier next time. I've been getting up between 8.30-9.30am. By the time I'm ready, it's like 9am or 10 am already.
I don't know if it's the brand or vacuum cleaners here in general: they suck really hard. Like REALLY hard. Anyway, I was told the best time to make some food for the kids today would be at around 3pm. I only started to cook at 2.30pm cos I thought I was a superwoman. My goldfish memory made me think I could whip up a lasagna in half an hour. By the time it was done, it was almost 4pm. Eemil was hungry, Helmi was hungry; boy, I was hungry too! Thank goodness it wasn't too bad. At least I could see the layers this time, compared to the last I tried to make, everything just mixed together. Thank goodness Jaakko was home too. He helped me make the cheese sauce which I failed miserably at my first attempt. Recipe was in Finnish, okay. Be proud of me =D Helmi liked it. Everytime she likes something, she'll say, 'This is goooood...' So cute.
Jumped rope with Helmi again. She always, always asks me to jump rope with her right after a heavy meal. Well, at least the meal was heavy for me! I think on one hand, I'm kinda wiping out the family's fridge. I get hungry so easily and I'm always around the kitchen - the well-stocked kitchen. I want to have a kitchen like that too, someday =D
Friends back at home have been asking me to post up photos. I know peeps, I will! Once I get a camera. I broke my old one in Australia last year cos I've got butterfingers. I so want a camera especially when I'm out playing with Helmi. The weather is perfect, the picture is perfect. Wind blowing into her soft blonde hair, her chubby cheeks as she blows at the dandelions she picked from the ground, her being among all the weeds, the greens, the blue sky, white clouds and the perfect amount of sun. For now, I can just take photos in my room, using my webcam, an excuse to feed to my narcissism.
I'm living with a great family. The kids get along very well with the parents in the sense that they can play together any type of games at all; they're like friends. The younger ones will want their parents to put them to sleep, which I find very sweet. And they don't address their parents as mom or dad. They call them by their names, which I have yet to find out why. Oh but I found out today that the milk we've been drinking is fat-free milk for kids. No wonder there's no milky smell. Cheh.
I can't wait to start my Finnish class actually. I'd want to meet more people and speak some Finnish so I won't look like a retard everytime someone speaks to me. I think I know how to pronounce the phonetics now, and how some words will sound if I read it according to the phonetics. But I still can't form a sentence. Like today, I asked Eliel if he wanted some cucumber. He asked, 'what is that?' I replied, 'Kurkku.' He looked at me and grinned. I has a proud =D But I won't start my class until after summer =(
'Player' is 'pelaaja', pronounced peh-lah-ya. Some words are easy to guess its meanings since it's sorta 'borrowed'; it's like some Malay words from English. I still think 'gigi pasta' is friggin' stupid. Oh, I learned pelaaja from Playstation. I can race car ok :P
The letter J is pronouned 'yeh' in Finnish phonetics. So, yea, I may be called 'Yulia' in future when I meet new people.
