The Hives from Sweden. First opening act.
Alcohol and girls dancing around poles on a terrace at the side of the stage. You have to be 18yrs and above to enter that area.
This is Eemil, the comedian.
My cool host family: Eemil, Anu & Jaakko.
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts as second opening act. I enjoyed their
music 100 times better than The Hives. Seriously.People were making molehills out of pebbles
I was pushing them away cos they were hurting my soles =(
The anticipation was high after Joan Jett sang their last number, knowing
Green Day was to appear at any minute. But the drunken bunny just
had to make its appearance first.
For some reason, all my close up shots of GD were blur.
Got too excited I guess? :P
Had fireworks in sync to the drum beat, but I failed to capture, as you can see =(
The madness began
They got a few lucky people to go up on stage, starting from a kid
who was damn cute.
The only good close up photo I have of them.
They hosed the audience with water...
...and toilet paper...and T-shirts too!
I think these were the cams?
Confetti...
...and fireworks
Totally oblivious to the fact that we were in the middle of the crowd by the end of the concert.
I'm the adopted asian child; the only one with black hair.

It was a warm afternoon and I felt like dressing up a little, other than my usual shirt and jeans. So I went for layers of tank tops, skirt, leggings and jacket. And a shawl. What I failed to remember was that I was going to stay out until 11.30pm at least, and I did not find out the exact place we were going to be - we were very near the sea and it was an open air area. The breeze froze my fingers and feet. I would love to be clapping during the concert but I just couldn't get my hands out of my pockets, except when I wanted to take pictures and videos. Speaking of which, I had to stretch my arm and hold my cam up high just so I could take good views, including shooting a video. Yes, I held up my arm upright for a good 4minutes each time (at least for one of the vids) I shot a video; in the cold. Friggin' tiring and cold ok.
The day started with me going to Helsinki with Eemil. We were supposed to take the bus from Nummela to Helsinki but somebody didn't really fancy the idea of taking the bus so he kinda cheekily proposed the idea of asking grandma to send us there with her blue car :P I said, well you can ask her if it's ok. But grandma said no, only to the bus station. Hehe. But the kids are good. No protest once you say no. And you don't even have to be harsh, or answer to so many why's.
Eemil is crazy about Donald Duck comic books. I guess it's something like how we collect Archie's back home but the DD comic books are like collectibles. They've got series and editions and etc. He wanted to go to the second hand bookstore to look for the books but wasn't really sure how to get to the store. His iphone zonked out not even halfway thru our journey so no GPS. Just plain ol' trusty map. I read a map with a 12yr old boy trying to find our way and it was good. No bossy kid here =)

What I saw on one of the wrong streets we were at. Yea, so wrong. Me with a kid on a quiet street that had 2 of these shops. On the other hand, it was like, oh finally, I see the sleazy/kinky side of Fin. Not sure if this is it, though. I wonder if they have Chow Kit or Bukit Bintang here...
Then we went to Jaakko's office, which is where Angeline works too, to meet up and adjourn to the concert place. Beautiful building. A restored old building now used for offices. I'd love to work in a place like this!
Ooh, and I managed to whip up fried rice for Eemil and I. I is proud =) Except that I didn't realise that the meat I used was actually bolognese leftover. So we had bolognese fried rice. Oh well, tasted good anyway =D

I used to collect Spider-man comics like 18 years ago.
